Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Go Fly a Kite

August 28.  The big sweep of lawn at Bondi invites kite flying. Justine was showing us how it's done last week.

Booking Ahead

As summer fades into September, we are now taking bookings for the fall, and for Thanksgiving. We have space in the 6 bedroom LODGE for Thanksgiving -- perfect for small family reunion, it can sleep up to 18 people maximum.

National Dog Day

It was National Dog Day on Aug. 27.  Taffy laughs at that, as she thinks every day is national dog day.  Here she is heading out for the marathon swim,  making sure Adrianna and Olivia stay warm!

Hard Rain

Another big storm rolled through last night and left us a rainy day. And a fallen branch. And David Tapleyvaliantly picking corn in the raindrops. And a soggy doggy. And annoyed kitties  This was on August 22nd, when Huntsville got 102 mm of rain in one afternoon.  Not much by Hurricane Harvey standards, but enough to wash out roads...

Eclipse

Eclipse photos. Of course. Our guests were able to capture some wonderful images. Brian and David were out and about with the welding glasses; some of our guests had the special eclipse glasses for the kids, everybody seemed to have a pinhole camera at work. Thanks to Lesley Peel and John Watt for this collection! (John had a special camera filter, Lesley had a less fancy filter, both got great shots.)

Puddle Jumping

We can't dispute that it's been wet this summer, although the past week has been stellar.  The weather has been 'changeable' as they like to say, and all summer we have had very few days when it rained all day -- usually it's been lovely most of the day, and then a storm rolls through late in the day. But on the up-side of all that, who doesn't love a puddle???

Wildlife, of the best kind

These wonders showed up at my door August 18. #cottagefun
