SPRING = MOOSE IN ALGONQUIN

The travel editors of the National Geographic get around... and they have named Muskoka as the Number One Summer Travel Destination in the world. We already knew that...
This is the time of year when if you are outside, and quiet, you can hear Spring coming. The time when the snow and ice release their grip on the land. Birds start to return -- a new species almost daily, making this a haven for Bird Watchers. Maple sap is running -- meaning the Sugarbush tours are in full swing.
Everyone is starting to stretch, and open up, and dream of being outside again after a long winter. The sun has some punch behind it.
April and May are the very best months to see moose in Algonquin Park. The big fellows will be crowding their way out of the bush, hungry for the salty water that collects near the highways and provides a welcome change from winter twigs.
We have had guests report seeing as many thirty moose in one drive-through.

We are very proud of Napster, our tail-painting cat, who uses his lovely artwork to raise money for charities.

Our resident Cat Artist reports he has a good supply of his artistic note cards, for those who like to write their notes on cards of distinction, as well as 8X10 prints available. He is now also offering a small line of jewellry, and larger prints on a plaque mount.

Since he began his new career, he has been honoured to have his artwork sold around the globe -- he even has a print with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
