People are very familiar with the autumn colours of the sugar maple trees. But have you ever taken a closer look at them in spring? They bloom, with tiny red flowers. Spectacular in a less showy fashion than the autumn glory, but still extraordinarily lovely. Because the blossoms are so far up in the tree, it is often hard to get a close look at them. Luckily, the tree at Sunflower cottage was agreeable to letting me get a close up.
