Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Crayfish Visit

The BMD have a minnow trap set up in the pond, because they have been trying to identify the different minnows currently in residence. This afternoon, it wasn't a minnow that ventured in.

This is a crayfish. They have named him George.   (are you sure it's not a lobster? It's so big!!!)

Sarah wanted a close up. Bailey, not so much...   Dave kept the gloves on. Apparently George can pinch pretty hard!

After his photo shoot, George went back into the pond where he can get even bigger...

The pond is a fascinating environment, crammed with chub, minnows, frogs and toads in various stages of no longer being tadpoles.  And crayfish!
