Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Swim, Swam, Swum

We are often told that there is something magical about the waters of Lake of Bays.

Something healing. Something that just soothes the soul.

That's why we encourage the Marathon Swim every Thursday morning.

That island out there? That's 1.6 km. from our shore.  (Taffy offers some encouragement to Kristin on the way out)

We had a fine looking group for the distance swim -- Alice, Chris, Kristin, Andrew and Laura made it all look easy!

It's great when we have plenty of support boats -- some to watch, some to cheer, and all to ensure that no swimmer is way out there alone.

The water was almost 23 degrees C. Smooth, inviting, and so refreshing.  What a wonderful way to start the day!

Our Marathon Swims are part of a very long-standing Bondi Tradition, and definitely something to cheer about!

  1. The right temperature for the water on a hot day.
