Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Digging Deep

Digging the trench to take the buried hydro cable, Brian and his trusty excavator ran the gamut from easy digging in the open field to getting 'back to their roots' as they cut through the trees planted by our parents in the 1950's. While we are doing our best to minimize the disturbance to these trees, you simply cannot dig a trench to the required depth without disrupting something!

David -- when not leaping graceful as a gazelle across the ditch -- had the job of smoothing out the bottom of the trench, and connecting the protective pipes.

You can tell when it is spring in Muskoka -- Carol arrived dressed in her best winter gear, including hat and Olympic Spirit mittens. David sported a more summery look in his t-shirt. Brian, who was spending time sitting on the excavator opted for the Woodsman Look, wearing a heavy jacket.

That flag you see in the background is one of the Frisbee golf targets -- our Disc Golf course is up and running, ready for play. You can check out the 'array preparation' while playing a round.

David's t-shirt attire is more understandable when we see how hard he was actually working. It is quite an art to get the dirt to come off the shovel in the correct shape!
