With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Duck Napping

There are several families of ducks hoovering their way along the shoreline every summer. This mom had a rough year -- she began with five fluffy ducklings, but she's down to one teenager.

It's a dangerous world in which to be a duckling. Seagulls, snapping turtles, raccoons, mink... there are many hungry creatures out there who consider a duckling to be a tasty meal. That's the way Nature works, so we can't be too upset by it. All the same, the ducks are so friendly, we can't help but cheer for them!

Mom and her baby enjoyed a nap on the shoreline during the 75th Birthday Bash for Norm Williams. They also enjoyed a little taste of the buns, and the smallest smidgen of cake... Not much, however. Ducks do better with more natural, duck-inspired foods. They show up at the Cookout every week as well, eyeing the popcorn spitting contest hopefully, and moving in to clean up the course as soon as we are done!
