Coming up on July 17 is the inaugural Limberlost Challenge. This is a trail running extravaganza -- for those who are bored jogging on pavement, sniffing up the diesel, this could be your Shangri-La.
There are 3 distances to test your toes... 14km, 28km and 56km.
The Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve is 10,000 acres, located close to Bondi and to Algonquin Park. Their trails are open to the public, even to those who walk rather than run. Not as well known as the Park, their trails are less busy, with the exception of the Limberlost Challenge Day! We really are spoiled for choice here, for trails in the forest. With Algonquin Park at one shoulder, our own 600 acre wilderness with hiking and ski trails lacing throughout, Limberlost Forest Reserve just down the road and Arrowhead Provincial Park in Huntsville, we've got trails for everyone.
If you're planning on sprinting about the Limberlost Challenge, you should consider combining it with a stay here. You can run your toes off on Saturday, while your family relaxes on the beach at Bondi. Join them for dinner (they can feed you, while you lie flat with your feet up) And you can spend the whole next week, soaking in our lovely lake, sauntering along our trails, chatting up the wildlife and recovering from the Challenge.
