Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Getting 'On Target' at the Library

This Saturday is the 5th Annual Outdoor 3D Archery contest, hosted by the Dwight Friends of the Library. It is taking place at Logging Chain Lodge, in Dwight, rain or shine, and the trails and targets are amazing.

Last year the bear target fell victim to the anger of a 'real bear' who took umbrage at finding an interloper with poor communication skills in 'his' woods.

The replacement is this big fellow -- seen here trying to take a bite out of librarian Peggy Hurley.

Even if you aren't an archer, it's worthwhile to drop by for lunch, to see the displays, and maybe even try your hand at one of the targets at the Resort.

It is a great day, for all ages.

  1. The bear's a new addition to the library. Peggy's looking quite panicked!
