Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Where the Sun Shines

The boys are making like loggers, hewing down trees (well, a few trees) on top of the hill behind the resort.
These are trees that our parents planted back in the 1950's, and mostly they serve the wonderful purpose of providing shelter and a screen from the road.

For this venture, however, some of them have to go. Why? Well, Brian, in his role as Head of the Bondi Thermonuclear Division, is getting ready to Go Solar.
That means levelling a place to put solar collectors, and also a place where the cable can be trenched down to meet up with the existing Hydro line.
And that's what the lads were busy creating.
They weren't alone up there... just to the side you can see the deer beds, well used and nicely iced in, where the doe and the twins spend their time soaking up the late afternoon sunshine. They 'went solar' a long time ago!
