Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Turkey Time

Turkeys! Right now, they are taking advantage of the quality of the snow that allows them to run around without sinking into it. They show up to raid the bird feeders...

And the other day, one was right up on the deck, eye to eye with Napster who was in his 'office' on the chair back watching the bluejays at the feeder.  He was a little taken aback to find himself eye-level with a bird!  As soon as it saw me, the hen took flight. Never let it be said that turkeys cannot fly... (at least wild ones. Memories of WKRP in Cincinnati just flashed through my mind)

We are coming into the breeding season, and the toms are starting to strut their stuff. Soon we'll here them gobbling up in the woods.

These hens were just cruising on past the house, much more interested in scavenging birdseed than in romance. At least today.
