Thanksgiving weekend -- it is hot, sunny, glorious.
Out walking this morning with Taffy, before the mist had lifted, nosing our way along the shore and down the trail, I was reminded just how glorious.
What a beautiful part of the world this is. When the leaves change colour in the autumn, there is beauty everywhere.
Shadows and shapes mix with the coloured leaves floating on the lake -- which itself was a mirror reflecting the hills in all their autumn splendour.
The trees are past their peak in some places -- Algonquin Park, being higher than us -- is losing the hot reds, burning down into the gorgeous coppers and golds that follow. Our Lookout Hill has barely changed yet.
All our guests seem to be out with cameras enjoying the sunshine and the beauty.
And why not? Every season is special. There is something poignant about the autumn. We know the cold weather is coming, but this bout of magnificent Indian Summer seems to push thoughts of that off to the side.
We're just soaking in the colour, the sunshine, the beauty of this wonderful Muskoka Autumn.
We'll think about Christmas later...

ReplyDeleteNancy -- Your pictures are stunning! I love the shots of the leaves on the water. You don't know how much I wish that we were up there this weekend. Have a wonderful rest of the Thanksgiving Weekend and thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures.
