Out walking with Taffy, we found some of our guests on their way back to the Lodge for lunch.
There was a huge sundog, but I wasn't fast enough to get a camera and capture it. The light glinting off the ice was pretty impressive, though! I settled for that.
Along the shore, we found raccoon tracks! I hope he's just out for a stroll enjoying the sunshine too! We didn't see any groundhog tracks, so I'm not sure if we are supposed to take the word of the raccoon on the supposed remaining length of Winter... Mr. Coon is out and about very early, although it is not uncommon for them to yawn their way out of their dens on mild days.
The pattern of snowmelt and ice on the dock at Lantern also caught my eye.
I see the Beaver has very generously contributed to the woodpile at Lantern cottage...
Rabbit tracks, squirrel tracks and deer tracks were abundant
Some of our guests, here from the Old Salts Canoe Club, enjoying skiing and snowshoeing.
Conditions might not be perfect for skiing today, but the day was still outstanding and couldn't be bettered for snowshoeing!
Your shots of the sun interacting with the ice on the bay are particularly appealing.
