Taffy still thinks she is a little lap puppy...
The week following Labour Day was big for her -- she had company staying over in Nancy's house, and took every chance to snuggle with her friend Sue.
The vet, Norma de Rose, was here to do some work on one of the horses -- Bailey hurt his stifle (which is the equivalent of the knee joint in us).
She brought her border collies along with her. These dogs are working dogs -- at home, they herd sheep and round up the horses. Here they were happy to be chasing endless tennis balls thrown off the dock.
Taffy was eager to participate, although she could not get ahead of Tess, who comes off the dock like a torpedo!
Tess may be joining the Muskoka Agility Dogs this winter, in our arena. They came all last winter, one day a month, and great fun to watch.
One of our neighbouring resorts, Tally Ho Inn, is hosting a Dock Dog Competition this year. That's where the dogs run off the end of a dock after a favourite toy or ball, and the dog that gets the greatest distance wins. Taffy, like Rex and Fly who stayed on the dock, is more comfortable jumping into shallow water, so she's not up for that.
We think that Taffy gets the 'elegance' award for her leap off the dock. Very stylish indeed.
The border collies just don't seem to struggle with their hairdo the way Taffy does...
