Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Comes the Sun, Comes the Spring

It's March -- the birds sound like Spring again. There is some punch in the Sun again that will tempt the unwary into leaving heavy coats and gloves at home.

The woods are calling.

What to do?  Grab some snowshoes -- and Taffy -- and head out for a hike.

The sunshine made lovely shadows in the woods, still full of white but punctuated by the deep greens of the evergreens.

The stand of poplar was a study in monochromatic shades, the snow beneath striped like a zebra.

For those thinking of a Spring Break in North Muskoka (and yes, we still have vacancies up here!) there is PLENTY of snow. Just ask Taffy, who discovered it was hard going without a pair of snowshoes.  She solved that problem by hitching a ride on the back of my snowshoes.  A plan that not really go well.

Carol was looking for the Seed Catalogues today -- that means Spring can't be far away. We Spring Ahead this weekend...   Still sleeping on the hill some of the old farm equipment that worked Bondi's fields in by-gone days wait for the season to change so they can come back down the hill and work the gardens again.

The ski trails are still in excellent shape. Spring snow means good steering and fast downhills.   Speaking of which... here is the most recent photo of the Flying Taffinator...  she has learned that in the deep snow it is much faster to run the trails than to take short-cuts!

  1. We still have plenty of snow, and more of it fell on the first day of spring yesterday.

    Taffy seems to love it!
