Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Riding a Tradition

This group has been coming to the Lodge for their sledding vacation for 39 years. Or is it 40? There was some discussion about this... Either way, it's a wondrously long time, and we are happy to count ALL of them as friends over the years.

Conditions can be so changeable -- and this year really tested that.  Shortly before they were to arrive, the trails were closed because of rain and lack of snow.  But how it switched!  It started to snow (in their honour)  two days before they arrived, and snowed most days of the week while they were here.
they arrive with intention -- the parking lot fills with trailers and trucks!

They got in some great rides, and spent some quality time around the fire in the Lodge when the weather was just plain too cold to enjoy scooting through it at speed on a sled!   Either way, they have a great time together.

The Algonquin Snowmobile Club trails were in great shape this week.

Out on the trail

taking a moment to stretch legs!

The Oxtongue River Rapids, lovely any time of year. The Snowmobile Trail crosses the Hunter's Bridge over these.

gathering in the Lodge living room, enjoying the fire and the view and the company. Which is always superb!
