Night sky. After the huge rainfall (which we oh so very much needed) on Tuesday, the sun is back, and so is the moon at night! Thanks Brendan Jaekl for the photo. #explorersedge #bondivillageresort #darkskies Make the picture big -- just left of the moon, the first bright 'star' you see is actually MARS... sitting just inside the three curving stars that form the claws and head of Scorpio... level with it, just to the left of Mars, is Antares (the rival of Mars), the beating heart of Scorpio... And just above them is the 'tail' of the Scorpion. It is very rare to get to see Mars and Antares side by side like this, so get out there and look into the southern night sky. Antares is the only red star in our summer sky... that other red star, well, that's a planet.
