Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Management Services in Action

The work never really ends... it just varies. This morning the B.M.D. (Bondi Maintenance Dept.) were hard at it repairing the big bush-hog mower that helps keep our cross country skiing/hiking trails in good shape. (Mike reported, using a technical term, that it had some "floppage" in the blade.)
It also gets to grips with the back field, keeping it from vanishing into the always encroaching bush. We don't mow the back fields until the autumn, when the butterflies have all hatched, but the Frisbee Golf Course gets regular attention, along with other areas.
Anyone who thinks trails "just happen" should come on over and lend a hand. There is a tremendous amount of work that goes on year round to ensure our 20 km. trail network is 'user friendly'. It pays off -- today two separate groups of our guests hiked up to our Lookout. One went early in the day, the other just before sunset. Both came back raving about the trail, and the view, and the wildlife they spotted along the way.
So this morning, the sparks were flying.

At lunchtime, however, Brian -- our fearless leader -- took a break to receive his medal from the Clam Race. This ran last week, with 37 entries. For the first time ever, Brian's clam cracked the medals. Not just cracked, but knocked everyone else off the podium to take the gold!

Lottie (Silver medalist) and Laura (bronze) -- your medals are in the mail!

  1. You all work hard and play hard! I can't wait to have a longer visit next year! As long as we can find a cat sitter in Perth!
