One if by Land, Two if by Sea

Lakes call for swimmers. And boats.  Those who, like Stuart, enjoy puttering about in small runabouts.

Those who, like David, enjoy drifting along the shore of an evening, casting a line.  He was visiting us from North Carolina, where he is based with the U.S. Military. It was a treat, he told us, to be here...

For those on shore, the action turns to bikes -- the Lodge this week is festooned with small peoples' bikes. Helmets. There's a pile of shoes by the door. There's a bigger pile of kids in the sandpile by the lake.

And that's just the way we like.  It is a treat to be here.
