Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Welcoming a Bright New Year

December 31st is Carol's birthday. The world joins us in celebration.  We began with Ice Candles in the snow...  13 of them, to celebrate the Lucky 13 of the New Year.   Every second year, we are joined by wonderful guests who celebrate the season at Bondi Village.
Welcoming them home is always a treat. We get to meet the newest (Grant, born Sept. 19). We get to watch the kids grow -- David is getting a bit concerned, because Nicholas is now almost as tall as he is, and Nicholas is still growing!

We are grateful to be included in their "family" for the New Year's party -- which starts off with a feast!
There are always incredible amounts of 'goodies' and desserts. Including Larissa's "anatomically correct" gingerbread people!
And could you truly start a new year without the traditional blazing pudding?  Several engineers and doctors are on constant standby to ensure everyone's safety as Kath touches the match!

John and Augustus perform a duet for flute and
recorder!
After dinner, we are treated to a Talent Show. With 15 kids in this group, there is a ton of fun to be had, and a lot of talent on display, from Gangnam dancing, card tricks, juggling and music recitals.  These are the ties that make families strong and kids awesome.

Then it is outside, for sparklers and fireworks. Brian and Dave are in charge of the actual lighting of the match... but many thanks to to our guests for bringing some of the fireworks along to make the display spectacular!

We are thankful to be included in our guests' lives and celebrations. We have always tried to make Bondi a Family Place, and our guests part of our Extended Bondi Family.

So Happy New Year to you all... be safe, be happy, be well... and at least once during the coming year, be here with us!
