Dramatic Skies and a whole lot of First Times
We were treated to some dramatic skies at the cookout on Tuesday, but the threatened storm just circled around and never came where we were!
That's good, because we had a big crowd, and it's always nicer on the beach, with the bonfire. And did we mention that we had our first corn of the season, fresh from our garden/?? Delicious!
We have guests visiting us from Milan, Italy just now. For little Julia, this includes a whole lot of 'first times'. Like Tuesday, when she had her very first s'more. As her Mom said, 'she'll be back for s'more!'
Little brother Tommaso was fascinated with helping his Dad toast a marshmallow. Dan offered some expert demonstrations, but the first few ended up a little on the charcoal side... He did master the technique, though... moving on to join his sister tasting s'mores!
The evening continued to provide drama overhead -- in every direction! While we had a Dark Skies evening planned, by 9 p.m. it was overcast, so we delayed that by one day, which turned out to be perfect decision.

Quite a different experience coming there for someone from Italy.
