It is said of old Tom Salmon, one of the very first white settlers into the Lake of Bays area, that he could fly-cast with his back flat to a barn wall. That if you floated targets down the river, he could land the fly on them every single time. Tom certainly knew where to go fishing. It was rumoured that he knew every trout in the lake by its first name...
But, sadly, we are not fly fishermen... and Brian has a fly rod that he would like to see go to a good home: a home that will take it out of its lovely case, assemble it, and let it taste the whip of air, the silk of water, the thunder of a trout rising to the fly.
