Brighter Days

I am told that this is one of the coldest February's on record. I don't know about that...

If you put on a good coat, a scarf over your face, a woolly hat and good boots and gloves, it's quite lovely out there. Our guests have not missed a beat snowshoeing and skiing our trails.  They've been spending time a Arrowhead Park on the Skating Trail, and in Algonquin Park, wildlife watching.

Still, February is a hard month -- it's in the wrong place, you see. We're all good with first snow before Christmas, and then the lights and the festivities of the holiday season.  But then January arrives, and we start to fade a bit, and come February a lot of people are finding they could use just a little more Vitamin D in their day.

But the days are longer. Spring IS coming. We can say that with great conviction, because while the thermometer may confuse us as to the month, the daylight doesn't lie, and indoors some of the tropicals are coming into splendid bloom wtth the added light.

And, wow, they make my living room feel so lovely, wrapping around me like a loving hug.

  1. It does feel cold- though as you say, the days are getting longer, and now you can really notice it.
