Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Mist not to be Missed

The challenge for the camera was to figure out how to take pictures in the mist.

Taffy and I went for our wander early, in the softness of the morning.  This thistle, standing over six feet tall, was a brilliant dab of colour.
The dew picked out the intricate form of the spiders' webs. This one was particularly complex, beautifully woven and tucked in the grass near the airplane dock.
This one, harder to photograph, was at the bonfire beach. It must have been a foot and a half across.
The thistle got competition from Carol's gardens. The flowers are just beautiful.
A red winged blackbird was foraging in the corn stalks.
Along the shore, Mommo duck had her six ducklings out for their morning exercise.
A loon was hunting in the bay as well.  My camera really struggled with this -- a gray bird, on a gray lake, in gray mist... on maximum telephoto.  All same, I'm using the picture here, because if you look closely you can see my award winning photo of the loon with a good sized fish in its beak.  If this had not been such a 'meter cheater' for the camera, and had not been quite so distant, I'm sure National Geographic would be calling...
