A better bet is the Interactive Map on the www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/traveller/trip/map website. Be sure to go to the left column, and under the heading 'Select Information to Display' choose both the "incidents and closures" tab AND the "road conditions" tab.
Then scroll and zoom until you find the roads you're looking for. And remember -- Slow Down and drive the conditions. Don't try to drive what the ads said the vehicle COULD do. And keep in mind that 4 wheel drive may help to get you OUT of a ditch, but it sure won't keep you out of one in the first place.
Also, if you live in Canada, you should have Winter Tires. After all, it isn't All Seasons out there Sunshine. It's WINTER!
I think you're preaching to the choir, Nancy! The drivers who scoot past our place are nuts.
ReplyDeleteThe poor deer! Great photo! Did you see my video of them in our backyard, slipping on the ice! The poor creatures.
I hadn't known of that website feature. Very handy.
