Our tadpoles are doing just fine, thank you for asking. The rains came in time to replenish their overgrown puddle in the pasture, and I no longer have to collect them to move them to safer waters. Good news for future frogs.
Stan is here this week, with his family - which includes three very busy young grandsons. Stan is also a man who knows his wetlands... so he got Taffy to show him where the pond is, and he collected about a dozen or so of the fat little 'poles. They are now hanging out at the cottage, much to the interest and amazement of the children for whom this little miracle of Nature never gets old.
We're delighted to see how fat the 'poles are now, compared to a few weeks ago when we were busy scooping the tiny ones up for rescue!
Some tadpoles take up to two years to complete their growth from tadpole to frog, so these won't mature while Stan is here. They'll go back in a safe pond, to continue their own adventures. Meanwhile, watching them is better by far than video games.

Good that they'll be back in the pond soon.
