Brian's Wondering whether he Otter

Brian and Barb were chatting, standing beside the big dump truck full of raked leaves by the three car garage.

Up from the lake, gliding as only they can glide, came an otter. Along the edge of the garden fence, about ten feet away from Brian and Barb, up past the stable and the old chicken coop, and vanished over the road.

Brian reports that they just kind of stood staring at the critter. He's never been that close to one. The otter didn't seem to mind, just carried on with his business. Whether he otter or not...

Oh, and the other BIG news story of the day -- the swallows are back. They come like clockwork, every April -- but usually a week later than this. For the second year in a row, they've arrived a week early.

Good thing David got the nest boxes up!
