Jet Boat -- Almost Overboard!
The comments were that they almost got swamped. And they almost fell out. And they definitely got wet. And it was 'totally amazing'.
Mike pointed out, as they hit the first wave (or it hit them), that 'this windshield is a waste of time'.
This is the reason Brian, Dave and Mike missed the Clam Race this year. They were on the Niagara River, tackling the whirlpool in the Jet Boat. That's them, along with Megan, and James, in the very front row. The row that is described as the 'controlled drown zone." When you dive into the 15' (almost 3 metre) waves, you REALLY dive...
With 1500 hp on the back, and 48' of boat in front of that, the jet boats travel up from Niagara-on-the-Lake to the Whirlpool, and it is one wet and wild ride.
Ah, Ontario... there's just so much to do in this province!! Maybe we'll still find a day to get over to the Ottawa River for a little more white water action, too, before summer winds down!
