A Walk on the Wild Side

Jon, Liz, Laurel and Grace were joined on their walk around the Frisbee Golf Course by the twin fawns. Play on the course is frequentlfy interupted while the deer -- and the wild turkeys -- 'play through'.

A little farther on, they found a single fawn, snuggled down in the grass.

Nancy and Sharon went for an after dinner stroll -- 2 deer crossed the road in front of them. One was standing almost hidden in the bracken in the ditch by the Firehall (a good reason, if you're driving country roads, to SLOW DOWN!!). She was almost invisible, and several cars went whizzing past, oblivious.

In the back field there were 5 fawns, and another four does. All were enjoying the soft evening light and the grass. Returning to the resort, there was our "personal deer" at the stable, eating with the chickens... for a total deer count in a short walk of 14!

  1. Much more wholesome than the scene in Bala yesterday. What a gruesome day in My Muskoka .

  2. I agree. How very sad that people underestimated the force of the water at the Bala Falls. With all this rain, the rivers are running hard and fast, and Nature is just too powerful to fool around with.
