Music Men and Medals
To say The Muskoka Music Men were excited to be in the Silver Medal position at the Clam Race would be understating the case.
Nancy dropped by Sutherland Hall tonight to award the medal to the quartet -- Ken, Mans, Bob and Roy -- who sang their hearts out for us at the Chowder Bowl.
Roy, spurred by the fact that their clam was only 3" behind the winner, suggested snorkeling about the lake to find Wild Racing Clam, because obviously with just a little more attention to the training program, this clam would have a serious shot at glory next summer.
We're pretty sure this is the only Barbershop Quartet in Ontario to have ever received a medal for Clam Racing, and we're darn proud of it.
The group is gearing up for their annual Night of Harmony coming up at the Algonquin Theatre on August 15.
You should circle that date in your calendar, too. You should go. The Mega-City Chorus is coming as the guest performers. They're good... but they don't have a Clam Medal...
