Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Clam Medal that was nearly Out of this World

Here's Vivian, with her Second Place Silver Medal from the Chowder Bowl Clam Race

She was still wearing it the following day.

And why not? These are hard to come by, and her clam ran an excellent six feet.

A few days before the clam race, Vivi and her family were on the lawn with me to howl for the wolves, listen for the owls, and check out the stars.  And overhead, zipping along bright as any star, went the International Space Station.  Of course we waved...   Vivi has a hero, and he used to be up there on the ISS.

So, she named her clam to honour him.  (it is important to have a twist to the names, to include something to do with the clams.  We think Vivi was very inventive. )

Well done, both Commander Hadfield, and Vivian, for very different accomplishments that are linked in the oddest fashion.
