Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Now THAT is a fish

Ron said he could spot this monster hanging out underneath the Main Dock, darting forward to scoop up the smaller bass and sunfish that live there.  So he set his sights on luring it in.

Dan was the man handling the fishing rod, under his Dad's direction, when the Mission commenced.

And Dan was most certainly the Man -- reeling in this 28 inch long, 8 pound Pike.

Not that many years ago, there were no pike in the Lake of Bays. We were a trout and bass lake, and still are one of the last bastions of the Brook Trout.  So the introduction of pike has not been a welcome addition, and we're really happy to see them get caught and NOT live -released!  Catch all the pike you can... please...

This was a true family affair -- Ron planned the campaign, Dan executed the plan...

and Debbie got to cook up the results.
