Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Photo Ops and a Wonderful Share!

I've been 'saved' by one of our guests, Sue, who sent me some superb photos she took while here at the end of January.

I'm showcasing the Bald Eagle -- because we had three of them on the deer killed in Bondi Bay last week, and because she got a great shot.

Sue and Jim also spent a day at the Haliburton Forest Reserve while they were here -- it's about an hour away by car. Less the way an eagle flies.   Much of their time was spent in the observation area at the Wolf Centre -- which is where Sue got this picture of a timber wolf.

Sue and Jim come up every autumn to enjoy the fall colours.  I took this picture of them on the dock at Lantern cottage back in October --  they come up in the winter to celebrate Sue's birthday (yes, you're right. 29. Not a day more!)

We love having them here with us, whatever the season.

So a huge thanks to Sue and Jim for forwarding these pictures, very timely, of wolf and eagle.   It's hard to get shots like this. That deer kill was completely 'cleaned up' by the second day.  Nature doesn't waste much...
